1975. The Thatched Cottage was also known as Shepherd's Cottage and was a primitive agricultural workers dwelling probably built in the 1800s. In the 1950s it was used by several local families as a 'halfway house' until the new council properties were completed. It has been substantially rebuilt and modernised.
